ShelLab Shaking (Orbital) Incubators

If the desk shakes, it’s an earthquake. Incubate. Aerate. All without disturbing anything else around.

We were thinking. Always thinking. Always trying to find new ways to give you top-of-the-line products. We have a history of firsts in the industry. But our heads aren’t in the past; they’re in the future, thinking up other firsts. That’s how we keep temperature and pressure constant. That’s how our products endure heavy use. And that’s how we plan to stay — forever supplying products of constant thinking. And our Incubator Shakers are fine examples of our constant thinking. These incubators will provide a controlled environment for continuous growth of biological organisms. Market applications include: microbiology, tissue culture, cell culture and bacteriology.

Load flexibility

Our unique counter balance weighting system is adjustable to accommodate off-center loads, varying capacities and stroke lengths, which in turn allows smoother running. All available in model SI6/SI6R.

Oxygen transfer

An adjustable orbit allows you to change the rotational stroke from 0.5Ó (vigorous shaking) to 1Ó (gentle shaking) to accommodate different types of cells and provides maximum oxygen transfer. All available in model SI6/SI6R.

Sample protection

All major functions — temperature, RPM and time — have alarms that alert you immediately to deviations from set parameters. Over temperature protection is provided via a safety thermostat. Digital keypad operation offers the ability to calibrate the temperature controller to a reference thermometer.

Compact design

The SI6 has a small footprint and its chamber provides shelf space for static incubation during shaking. The SI4 has a transparent hood that lifts up via a hydraulic system so it will function in tight places.

A product of constant thinking for constant use To better support the load over years of constant use, we utilize four load bearing positions and optimize weight distribution. The ability to achieve below ambient conditions allows new applications such as insect cell research and more.

All of our units feature stainless steel interiors which provide excellent durability and an easy-to-clean surface. A large LED display is easy to read. The rotation platform is included with each unit and is self-centering for easy installation. The SI6 features a fluorescent light, so you can see all that’s going on. A PID microprocessor controller provides precise uniformity. The SI6 has an interior electrical outlet and a one inch hermetically sealed, double-paned glass viewing window. A door interlock switch stops rotation upon opening. The SI6R refrigerates via a 1/6-horsepower motorized compressor (produced without CFCs/HCFCs), while cooling coils work with an optional chiller to achieve the same results on the SI4. Best of all, both units are affordable. Interestingly enough, the first successful in-vitro fertilization in the USA was cultivated in one of our incubators. That just goes to show, once you have a product of constant thinking, it’s not about what you can achieve — it’s about when.

Sheldon Manufacturing, Inc.. founded in 1970,  is a leading manufacturer of high quality and innovative Constant Temperature Equipment to the global market.
